Rhyming Poems
Writing rhyming poems is like putting puzzle
pieces together. You
have your puzzle pieces already, your story, now you have to put them
together. What shape will your puzzle piece finally turn out?
Equipment
At the end of this guide, I will suggest you do a drawing to accompany
your rhyming poem on a blank sheet of paper. So here are the equipments
you will need:
- Scratch paper to work on your poem. Or a
computer word processor.
- A pencil/pen.
- A blank sheet of paper.
- Markers, crayons, or other coloring utensils.
For your word rhyming needs, use this free site: www.rhymezone.com
If your story is long or has different sections, you can make poems
booklet instead.
Begin Your Poem
- Start writing your poem on scratch paper or a
word processor.
Go to rhymezone.com to look for words. This may take a bit of time but
keep going. If I were doing multiple poems, I would finish all my poems
first before moving on. But you may choose to move on after you’ve
finished writing one of the poems.
- Now you can either print out your (single) poem
or write it on the blank sheet of paper.
- Draw
an image from your poem. However you can fit it. If you’re writing in
your poem you can even move it all over the place to fit your drawings.
Use your creativity.
If you have more, go back and finish
the other poems with the same procedure. Make a neat book with your
final poems in order of the story.
In the end you can make photo copies or your poem or poems book to show
or give to your friends and family.
