Get Well Letter
Have a friend that's not feeling good?
Write a get well letter and show how much you care and miss
him or her. In addition to the basket, we are going to create a get
well basket too.
For this story project, you will write up a
friendly letter recounting some things you want to do with your friend
after s/he gets well. You'll fill the basket with little gifts or other
things that will encourage your friend to get well faster.
This is easy to do and a very friendly gesture. If
you want, you can even invite classmates or friends to make a
collective get well basket.
Materials
- buy a basket - or a nice bag will do
too
- paper and envelope
- toys or small tokens
Steps
- The letter is the most important part of the
whole gift. Here are some suggestion on what types of stories to
include:
- How much I/we miss you!
- When you get well, let's...
- I'm/We're waiting for you to...
- Write down the letter neatly on paper. You can
draw a picture if you want of the thing you want to do with
him/her.
- Sign the letter and seal.
- Now find little gifts for your friend. If you
really enjoyed seeing a movie together before, draw a small ticket on
paper and say "let's see ___ together". You can either buy or make
gifts. It's all used to cheer up your friend.
- Put the gifts and the sealed get well letter in
the
basket/gift bag and give it to your friend.
You're friend will love this gift knowing that you spent time trying to
cheer him or her up!
